Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX) Reaches Memorandum of Understanding with 3 Steps Dare Company Ltd (3SDCL).

On the 26th of February 2019, Ghana Commodity Exchange and 3 Steps Dare Company Limited agreed a Memorandum of Understanding, to cooperate with one another to promote the interests of actors on the agri- value chain.

3 Steps Dare Company Limited is a fully Ghanaian owned company that has brought together expertise from IT, agriculture and agribusiness to provide a single platform that brings various actors within the agriculture value chain to interact with each other, and also provide credible database that enable all actors to take business decisions that promote agri-business in the country.

The 3SDCL Electronic Agricultural Data and Payment Platform (e-ADAPP) is a one-stop-shop solution that will enhance the participation of all agricultural value chain actors on a single platform. The e-ADAPP is developed to facilitate the interaction between various value chain actors which include smallholder farmers, input suppliers, farm equipment & mechanised service providers, aggregators, produce buyers, and other institutions on a single platform.

As part of this MOU, 3SDCL agrees to create a comprehensive Know Your Customer Database of agri-actors including farmers and institutions in the agricultural sector in Ghana. The organisation also agrees to create an interface that will serve as an access point into the e-ADAPP system by GCX; and to provide support services, monitoring and upgrading of the interface.

On its part, GCX agrees to allow 3SDCL members / clients to have access to GCX Services including but not limited to warehouse facilities in communities, districts & regional warehouses and trading platform. The Exchange also agrees to collaborate with 3SDCL to provide market intelligence to market actors that is closely integrated with the GCX Market Data service.

It is the hope of both institutions that this partnership will influence greater investments into the agriculture sector to provide the needed turnaround in the coming years.
