GHANA COMMODITY EXCHANGE HOSTS FIRST QUARTERLY COMMODITY TRADING FORUM FOR 2025 image

The Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX) hosted its first quarterly Commodity Trading Forum of the year on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. The Forum explored the theme "The Evolving Role of the Commodity Trader in the Digital Age," featuring Mr. Benjamin Bice Asiedu, CEO of TDX Ltd., as the Guest Speaker.

The forum provided a platform for discussions on the transformation of commodity trading in today’s digital era. Mr. Asiedu’s presentation highlighted the agricultural supply chain, the evolving role of commodity traders, and the opportunities and challenges they face in bridging the gap between smallholder farmers and modern markets.

He emphasized the critical role of technology in enhancing market access for farmers, ensuring fair pricing, and streamlining transactions. Encouraging traders to embrace innovation while preserving traditional trading relationships, he urged them to integrate digital tools to create a more efficient and inclusive commodity market.

GCX remains committed to fostering knowledge-sharing and advancing commodity trading in Ghana. The next quarterly forum is scheduled to take place in June 2025.
