Accra, Ghana – May 29, 2025 — The Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX) has joined forces with World Vision Ghana, VisionFund Ghana, and a consortium of other influential partners to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at implementing the “Transforming Household Resilience in Vulnerable Environments” Project, dubbed THRIVE2030.

The official signing ceremony was held at the Multi-Purpose Conference Hall of World Vision Ghana at 9:00 AM and marked a critical step in advancing household economic resilience and food security across Ghana’s vulnerable communities. THRIVE 2030 seeks to create sustainable improvements in household income and well-being by 2030.

As a key strategic partner, the Ghana Commodity Exchange will leverage its warehousing infrastructure and internationally recognised quality standards to support farmers and households. By facilitating access to secure storage, structured trade, and fair market prices, GCX aims to play a pivotal role in increasing household incomes and reducing post-harvest losses. In addition, the Exchange intends to use its settlement system to ensure that farmers are paid on time for their produce.

Other partners in this landmark initiative include World Vision Ghana, VisionFund Africa, Fairtrade Africa, Farm Concern International, Pangea Africa, and Esoko—each bringing unique strengths in market access, agricultural innovation, and digital tools for farmer empowerment.

Together, these organizations are joining forces to deliver targeted interventions that strengthen the resilience of farming households, improve market access, and boost agricultural incomes. By combining innovation, infrastructure, and shared expertise, the partnership is committed to ensuring that smallholder farmers are not left behind. This collaboration truly reflects the spirit of the THRIVE 2030 vision — “Everyone, Everywhere, Out of Poverty.”
