Legal and Compliance

The department is responsible for research and analysis of the Rules of the Exchange and Directives, developing and amending Rules, determining when and appropriateness of introducing new Rules to meet changing circumstances, and drafting and presenting Rules. It is also responsible for reviewing all internal agreements and procedures, including those between warehouse operators, clearing institutions, members, and clients, to determine compliance with rules and regulations governing the Exchange.


Value Chains and Product Development

The department is responsible for identifying productive commodity value chains and supporting them to develop tradable products to be traded on the exchange.


Human Resources and Administration

The Human Resource and Administration Department comprises three functions: Human Resource, General Services & Security, and Procurement, serving as a core unit for organizational functionality.

In the Human Resource function, the department manages workforce aspects like recruitment, training, performance monitoring, employee relations, well-being, and compensation administration. It also implements and upholds human resource policies, ensuring organizational compliance.

The General Services & Security function is vital for overall security, safety, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include coordinating security activities, ensuring vehicle and asset safety, overseeing on-site security systems, and maintaining security standards. The function also manages health, and safety, and oversees vehicle and asset maintenance.

In Procurement, the department acts as a strategic liaison between the organization and suppliers, understanding departmental procurement needs and building relationships with strategic suppliers. The focus is on ensuring supplier performance aligns with contractual obligations and compliance with the organization’s procurement guidelines.


Finance, Investment & Governance

The department is responsible for the management and oversight of all financial processes and procedures, including budgeting and budget monitoring, financial procedures and internal controls, contract management, cash flow management, computerized accounting systems and procedures, audits, and line management responsibilities.
