On the 2nd of May 2019, GCX hosted an interaction attended by the DCEO, Mrs. Tucci Goka Ivowi, the COO, Mr. Robert Dorwouna Owoo and representatives from the United Nations Industrial development Organisation. This meeting was held to discuss the deepening of the collaboration between GCX and UNIDO.

This is in line with UNIDO’s drive to assist Ghana in selected agro-based sectors, with a specific focus on developing and implementing standards to assure the quality and safety of its agricultural products; while also building laboratory testing capacity for these products to ensure they meet international requirements; and establishing a product traceability system to provide market confidence, particularly for export buyers.

With this in mind a partnership between the Ghana Commodity Exchange and UNIDO will only prove to be a fruitful one as both organisations strive towards the transformation of Ghana’s agricultural sector and the development of the lives of Ghanaian farmers.
